On behalf of the
Director of the Department of International Affairs of the Organization of
American States (OAS), Dr. Irene Klinger, we would like to acknowledge receipt
of your communications of November 13 and 14, 2011, in which you submitted the
constitution, statutes and mission statement of the Sociedade de Cultura Científica do Bem Estar Social e
Moral de Evolução da Humanidade (SCCBESME – HUMANIDADE), as well as
information about the programs of the School of Sociology and articles with your
organization’s proposals to support the OAS in the areas of democracy, fight
against corruption and education.
Pursuant to
resolution CP/RES. 759 “Guidelines for the Participation of Civil Society
Organizations in OAS Activities,” we require the audited financial statements
(including a list of public and private sources of financing) and report of
activities for 2010-2011 in order to continue with the process of registration
of your organization in the OAS. Based on your communications, we understand
that because SCCBESME –
HUMANIDADE was recently established in February 2011, the first
annual report of activities and financial statements will not be available until
mid-2012.
Bearing this in
mind, we kindly recommend that you wait one year until the above-mentioned
documents are available and we will continue to process your registry
application at that time. In the meantime, we have included your email address
in our database so that you receive our regular communications regarding OAS
activities and opportunities for civil society
participation.
