VoteVets

Earlier this week, Texas Democrats walked out of a legislative session to prevent Republicans from passing a restrictive voter suppression bill.

This GOP bill is truly outrageous. It would make it a felony to send vote by mail applications to all voters, and ban drive-through and 24-hour voting locations.

Well Veteran Timothy Beauchamp, a Texas resident who served on submarines during the Cold War, has something important to say about Republicans’ attempt to suppress the vote in his state and across the country.

Watch Timothy’s video here and when you’re done, sign VoteVets’ petition calling on Congress to pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Act and the For the People Act, and stand up against efforts to curb our right to vote.

Since the last election, 17 states have passed bills like the one Democrats in Texas are fighting against. At their core, these bills are trying to restrict Americans’ right to vote. Anyone here who fought overseas to defend that sacred right should be outraged.

And you should sign our petition calling on Congress to pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Act and the For the People Act. These are both critical first steps in ensuring equal access to the ballot for all Americans, no matter where they live or what race they are.

What we do now will determine whether we have a free and fair democracy in the years to come.

All our best,

The team at VoteVets
