OUR RESPONSE TO TRUMP'S ADDRESS

Last night, Mr. Trump tried to trick us into believing he cares about the needs of middle income and working families all across the country. But Trump’s economic team is shamefully comprised of corporate elites from Goldman Sachs and other Wall Street firms who helped destroy our economy less than ten years ago. We will not allow these corporate bandits to loot the wealth of America’s families again.

We believe that higher wages, protecting Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security, and ensuring that our trade policies keep manufacturing jobs here in America are essential to supporting working Americans in every zip code. This agenda -- a progressive agenda -- is what we are fighting for.

Contrast this with Trump’s destructive agenda of tax breaks for the wealthy and corporations, increased military spending, environmental degradation and gutting aid to public schools. His plan to enrich his friends and business partners at our expense couldn’t be more clear.

Endorse our progressive agenda to show Trump and his special interest friends that we are more powerful than the corporate executives and lobbyists in his Cabinet.

Wall Street, the fossil fuel industry and other high dollar campaign donors do not belong in the White House.

We face many crises in America today. Tens of millions of people living in poverty, a broken campaign finance system, ever-rising costs in education, housing and child care, and families torn apart by aggressive deportations. Let Trump know that an attack on any of us is an attack on all of us.

Add your voice to show this administration where our priorities are -- with a progressive agenda that protects working families and vulnerable communities who are under attack.

The need for a political revolution has never been greater.
